Policy and Procedures Coordinator
I began my career with Boys & Girls Clubs in December 1985 as the Executive Director at the Wellington & Area Boys & Girls Club. In January 1993, I assumed the position as Provincial Coordinator for Boys & Girls Clubs of Prince Edward Island. In 2009, the National Office amalgamated the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island into one Region and the position was eliminated here in P.E.I. In Feb. 2010, I became the Policy and Procedures Coordinator for the Boys & Girls Club of Summerside.
I have many years experience serving on not-for-profit Boards and have been Chairperson of the former Western School Board and Stewart Memorial Health Board. I have served as a lay member on the Law Society of Prince Edward Island, as a board member on the Charlottetown Airport Authority as well as various other community organizations. I presently serve in my community as an elected Councillor of the Rural Municipality of Tyne Valley.
I and my husband Nigel have two sons, Richard here in Tyne Valley and Adam and his wife Kandice as well as their three children Daniel, Sylvee and Vayda, also living in Tyne Valley. I enjoy knitting, quilting, sewing, reading and spending time with the grandchildren. I help with my 84-year-old mother who is in the Stewart Memorial Manor and my Mother in Law who is 96 and still lives in her own home here in Tyne Valley.
I have spent much of my professional career looking to better the services and programs for youth in this province and intend to continue for a while yet.
