Atlantic Superstore After-School Transport & Care Program

The Boys and Girls Club of Summerside has three 15-passenger vans that travel daily to six school in Summerside and Miscouche to pick up Club members. The youth are transported back to the Boys and Girls Club where they will receive a healthy snack prepared by the club staff.  While at the club the children are able to complete their homework, make crafts in the craft room, play in the gymnasium, play cards/board games,  watch a movie in our theatre or go to our local park as part of our structured programming offered until 6 pm Monday to Friday. Participants also get access to the Credit Union Place for swimming, bowling, use of the walking track and ice pad.

150 for 150

Our new Participaction Program, 150 for 150 is run by our Healthy Living and Gymnasium Coordinator Jason Gallant. The program consists of 150 members trying to achieve 150 minutes of physical activity each week! Every day, there are organized activities and sports in the gymnasium, and the participants time spent engaging in them is tracked daily, and weekly. At the end of the week, the members with the highest minutes get their name on a LED sign downtown, as well as recognition on the TV in the main area.

The participants are challenged to improve their own times each week, in a friendly competition with themselves!

There is prizes for certain milestones that the members reach.

Each month we have a Heather Moyse Good Sport of the Month award. One child from each group is awarded once a month, for showing respect towards peers and staff, good sportsmanship and including all members of the group in activities. Each months winner’s will receive a t-shirt, treats from the bulk barn, and a few other fun surprises in their good sport bag!
